Here are the Premier League’s biggest flop signings for 2014/15:

10) Brown Ideye – West Bromwich Albion – £10m

Although he has arguably started to turn his season around in recent weeks, Ideye has not done nearly enough considering he was West Brom’s record signing.

Tony Pulis actually tried to offload him this January, but couldn’t find a buyer.

9) Mathieu Debuchy – Arsenal – £12m

Whether the Frenchman turns out to be a long-term flop remains to be seen, but his disastrous injury record this season means he has turned out just a handful of times for the Gunners.

He is no spring chicken either, so time isn’t exactly on his side.

8) Jack Rodwell – Sunderland – £10m

How Sunderland could afford to spend £10m on a Manchester City reject is a mystery.

Rodwell hasn’t been horrendous for the Black cats, but he hasn’t even come close to justifying his colossal price tag.

7) Filipe Luis – Chelsea – £20m

The Brazilian has gone from being one of the most highly rated left-backs in football, to being a bench warmer at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho has opted to use Cesar Azpilicueta as a makeshift left-back more often than not, and Filipe Luis may already be looking for an exit.

6) Sandro – QPR – £10m

The former Spurs star is extremely injury prone, and has spent more time in the doctor’s office than on the pitch this season.

If QPR are relegated then they will have a very expensive flop on their hands, and will surely have to take a loss on him.

5) Dejan Lovren – Liverpool – £20m

The Merseyside man has been in and out of the team this season, but his performances have seen him berated badly by his own fans.

His massive transfer fee has raised some questions, and so far he is yet to justify it.

4) Luke Shaw – Manchester United – £31m

A British record teenage signing, Shaw was always going to have a lot to live up to.

He is obviously one for the future and still could come good in a Manchester United shirt, but so far this season he has disappointed.

3) Mario Balotelli – Liverpool – £16m

The controversial Italian striker has been an unmitigated disaster since joining Liverpool this past summer, and is believed to be on his way out of the club at the end of the season.

He doesn’t offer a huge amount to the team other than his goals, and seeing as those have dried up he has been a total flop this campaign.

2) Eliaquim Mangala – Manchester City – £42m

The most expensive defender in Premier League history, it’s hard to see how the champions justified spending so much on the Frenchman.

He has made a number of high profile mistakes, and has looked like a liability in defence at times.

1) Radamel Falcao – Manchester United – £6m (£24m)

Falcao’s massive loan fee was bad enough, but the wages and extra fees that he cost United are astronomical.

He doesn’t look to have recovered from his past injuries, and is a shadow of his former self.
