Manchester United and Chelsea could miss out on the signing of Juventus star Paul Pogba, according to surprise quotes from Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti.
The Italian playmaker has responded to rumours he could be used by PSG in a swap deal to bring Pogba to the Parc des Princes, and though he insists he is ignoring transfer speculation, he hinted he would be open to such a move.
“I generally don’t like exchanges, as if a club really wants me then they’ll sign me and that’s all,” Verratti is quoted in the Daily Express.
“If PSG were to force me to leave in order to make room for Pogba, then that’s different.
“In any case, that’s certainly not an issue I need consider today.
“I ignore transfer gossip. If one day PSG didn’t want me anymore, then I’d pay more attention.”
