The £32m-rated Argentine has been strongly linked with the Blues in recent months, having caught the eye in the Italian top flight this season.

Still, Inter may be ready to cash in on their prized asset as they look at another exciting young player to replace the 22-year-old in their attack, Villarreal’s Luciano Vietto.

The 21-year-old La Liga hitman has been watched by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, but Chelsea’s move for Icardi could then see him head to the San Siro.
