Manuel Pellegrini’s side will go into this week’s second leg at the Nou Camp 2-1 behind, following defeat at the Etihad Stadium. However, it would have been much more daunting had it not been for the England stopper, who defiantly prevented Lionel Messi from adding a third away goal from the penalty spot. His celebration of the save, highlighted that Hart certainly believes that the momentum is now with City.

“We’re going to have a right go at it. We gave them a real run for their money when we calmed down and got into the game in the second half. They’re not expecting an easy night. We’re going there to win,” Hart said.

If City can achieve the seemingly near impossible, then there is a good chance that will be the Premier League’s sole representative in the quarter-finals as Chelsea have already been eliminated, and Arsenal are on the brink.

And Hart feels that progress in Europe will be ominous news for Chelsea, who sit five points clear of City at the top of the Premier League table.

“Of course we can catch Chelsea. We’ve proven that in the two times we’ve won the league,” he added.
