Tottenham plan shock move for £15m PSG star

Mauricio Pochettino is planning an audacious bid to bring Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi to Tottenham in the summer, but he faces competition from clubs right across Europe, according to the Sun.

Spurs are reportedly looking to bolster their attacking options, as they look set to let both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season, and Lavezzi is their main target to work alongside starlet Harry Kane.

But the top four contenders face strong competition from plenty of clubs, including La Liga Champions Atletico Madrid, for Lavezzi.

The 29-year-old’s contract at PSG expires at the end of the next campaign, but they would be happier to see him leave this summer, rather than let him go for nothing next year. However, they will be holding out for £15m for the Argentinian international.

Lavezzi has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot this season, making thirteen starts, and eight substitute appearances in Ligue 1. Perhaps the inconsistency explains why he is only fourth on the club’s goalscoring charts, with just four strikes in the league this season, eight behind the talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
