Here is the top five…

5th- Ronald Koeman (5 Major Honours)

After an illustrious playing career, the Southampton boss has collected five major trophies as a manager, including three Eredivisie championships, two with Ajax and another with PSV Eindhoven. He also won the Copa Del Rey with Valencia in 2008.

4th Manuel Pellegrini (8 Major Honours)

Manuel Pellegrini’s triumph in the Premier League and Capital One Cup last year became the Chilean’s first major honours in Europe, after a celebrated career in South America. At the height of his powers, he clinched the Argentinian Premier League twice.

3rd Arsene Wenger (12 Major Honours)

Before Arsenal’s FA Cup victory last year, the Gunners had been on a decade-long drought, not that the fans need reminding. But Arsene Wenger has won the majority of this trophies whilst at Highbury, clinching the FA Cup on another four occasions, and three Premier League titles. He had previously won three more cup competitions – one with Monaco, and the others with Nagoya Grampus Eight in Japan.

2nd Louis van Gaal (15 Major Honours)

Louis van Gaal’s past glories are probably the reason he is currently under so much pressure at Manchester United. He has won the league titles in the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany. He also has one Champions League, a UEFA Cup, and two UEFA Super Cups, as well as various domestic cup trophies under his belt.

1st Jose Mourinho (17 Major Honours)

So Mourinho was right it seems. What makes the Special One’s achievements all the more incredible is the length of time it has taken to accumulate those trophies. For example, Arsene Wenger had been at Arsenal for four years before Mourinho got his first managerial job, and all seventeen honours came in the last twelve years. He has won the Premier League, Serie A, and the Portuguese League all on two occasions, and that is also the number of times he has won the Champions League.
