Predicted Liverpool line-up vs Swansea City, as Steven Gerrard and Mamadou Sakho return

Liverpool visit Swansea City later today, aiming to stay within touching distance of the top four. After a lengthy rest period, stretching back to last Sunday’s game against Blackburn, the Reds should be well up for this one.

Liverpool transfer news

Here’s how we think they’ll line-up

GK) Simon Mignolet

Still no Brad Jones, so still no competition for the in-form Belgian, who will undoubtedly keep his spot in the team.

DRC) Emre Can

The German played in midfield against Blackburn, but a couple of timely returns should see him return to the back three.

DLC) Mamadou Sakho

It’ll be a toss up for Brendan Rodgers whether to include Sakho or Lovren, who has started the last few games. We’ve gone for the Frenchman.

DC) Martin Skrtel

The Slovakian is supposedly fine despite his clash with Rudy Gestede in that FA Cup quarter-final. He should be fit to start.

MR) Raheem Sterling

The youngster has played in a wing-back role for the last couple of games, and will start here again in the absence of Jordon Ibe.

ML) Alberto Moreno

Rested against Blackburn, and will no doubt be eager to get back involved against Swansea. He should be the clear choice.

MC) Steven Gerrard

Liverpool have promised that their captain is fit to return, and he’ll go head-to-head with Joe Allen over the starting spot.

MC) Jordan Henderson

With Gerrard and Allen on their way back from injury, all eyes will still be on Henderson to lead the midfield charge.

AMRC) Adam Lallana

Put in an uninspiring performance against Blackburn, and needs to play well here to prove that he deserves his place in the team.

AMLC) Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian has been in fine form all season, and will no doubt have benefited from a week’s rest. Will he grace with another great goal?

FC) Daniel Sturridge

Brendan Rodgers’ quest to manage Sturridge’s game time has been aided by a week off, and the England man should be fit and firing here.
