Manchester United transfer news

GK: Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

If not for Courtois, Chelsea would surely have lost at home to Southampton, as the Belgian goalkeeper made one superb save after another.

DR: Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

A solid performer at right-back for Southampton, Clyne showed why so many top clubs, Chelsea included, are after him this summer.

DL: Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)

Another strong display after his goal at Manchester United last Monday, Monreal was lively at left-back in the win over West Ham United.

DC: Phil Jones (Manchester United)

Back to his commanding best at centre-back, Phil Jones was in fine form as United comfortably beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-0.

DC: Jose Fonte (Southampton)

An outstanding defender, Jose Fonte once again showed his importance to Southampton as they held Chelsea to a draw at Stamford Bridge.

MC: Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

Arguably man of the match in the Chelsea game, Morgan Schneiderlin ran the show from midfield and is surely on his way to a bigger club next season.

MC: Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United)

A player improving all the time, Marouane Fellaini scored the opening goal and was at his very best in United’s win over Spurs.

MR: George Boyd (Burnley)

A tireless runner for Burnley and the eventual matchwinner in this memorable upset over reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

ML: Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Chelsea’s main threat in an otherwise disappointing performance, Hazard was everywhere against Southampton but couldn’t inspire his side to victory.

FC: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

A fine goal and even better celebration to cap an excellent performance from Rooney as United strolled past Tottenham at Old Trafford.

FC: Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

Back to his best with a superb brace, Christian Benteke can surely save Aston Villa from relegation if he plays like he did against Sunderland every week.
