The Premier League was in high-scoring form this weekend, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Everton all netting three goals – and even more astonishingly – Aston Villa bagging FOUR… Yes four!

The biggest talking point from the fixtures must go to Red Devils skipper Wayne Rooney, who netted a knock-out blow to Tottenham Hotspur, and celebrated in style, responding to his recent boxing controversy.

Wayne Rooney vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United saw off Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs in style with three goals, but it was captain Wayne Rooney who grabbed the headlines with this composed finish – and ‘knock-out’ celebration.

Olivier Giroud vs. West Ham

The France international broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time, and it was worth the wait, as the striker rounded off a typical Gunners team move, firing the ball into the top corner.

Matt Phillips vs. Crystal Palace

The Hoops were trailing 3-0 when Phillips stepped up with an absolute stunner from all of 40 yards.

Aaron Ramsey vs. West Ham United

For the Gunners’ second goal, Giroud this time turned provider following neat play in the Hammers’ box, with the Welshman sweetly finishing off the move.

Marouane Fellaini vs. Tottenham Hotspur

The Belgian grabbed his fourth league goal of the season, firing this low shot into the far corner, reminding Old Trafford of his goalscoring threat.

George Boyd vs. Manchester City

Boyd secured a famous victory over the Premier League champions – and what a finish on the half-volley it was from the midfielder.

Christian Benteke vs. Sunderland

The 24-year-old has endured a difficult time in front of goal this term, but looks reinvigorated under new boss Tim Sherwood.

Benteke didn’t even need a touch to send this strike into the net.

Gabby Agbonlahor vs. Sunderland

Another excellent finish from Villa – Agbonlahor’s second goal of the game was characteristic of the club’s new confidence under Sherwood.

The striker eased through three Black Cats defenders in the box to excite fans that they could once again avoid relegation.

Joel Ward vs. Queens Park Rangers

Eagles defender Joel Ward scored his side’s vital third goal, beautifully placing his shot into the far corner.

Ross Barkley vs. Newcastle United

The England international, like the rest of his team-mates, has suffered from a lacklustre season with relegation a serious threat, but the midfielder reminded us of his quality, as he eased round Magpies stopper Tim Krul to score with ease from a tight angle.
