Louis van Gaal could have around £150m to spend on new players this summer, similarly to last year, and has set his sights on three homegrown talents with plenty of potential.

Read on to see who is on United’s radar in this summer’s epic spending spree:

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

First on United’s list is Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, who could cost anything between £70-80m based on various reports from the last few months. The Welshman shone in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur, but has not hit the same heights in La Liga.

Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

A fine right-back enjoying a great season, Southampton star Nathaniel Clyne is another top target for United right now, looking like the ideal attack-minded wide-man to play as a wing-back in van Gaal’s system.

Danny Ings (Burnley)

Finally, United also want to improve their attack with the signing of Burnley striker Danny Ings, who would likely only cost around £6m in compensation fees. The England Under-21 international has been in impressive form this season and looks a great prospect.
