The fans’ Man City XI against West Brom: Samir Nasri dropped!

Manchester City take on West Brom in the lunch time kick off at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday with the Premier League champions aiming to get their season back on track after a disastrous few weeks.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have lost four of their last five games, exiting the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona this week – again. The defence of their title hasn’t gone to plan and Man City now find themselves in a fight to regain their status in the top four.

Here is what the fans think should be Man City starting lineup against West Brom (via Manchester Evening News)

GK) Joe Hart

After the performance of his life, Hart is becoming one of Man City’s most important players.

RB) Pablo Zabaleta

Bacary Sagna played at the Nou Camp but the fans want to see the return of their regular Argentine full back.

CB) Vincent Kompany

The Etihad faithful will no doubt be hoping that their skipper can play his way through the difficult time he is enduring.

CB) Eliaquim Mangala

Mangala has been on the fringes of the team in recent weeks, but he has been voted to return and replace Martin Demichelis.

LB) Gael Clichy

Suspended in the first leg after a daft sending off, Clichy gets the nod ahed of Alexander Kolarov.

RM) Jesus Navas

The only genuine winger in the Man City squad, Navas has been given the faith by his fans to recapture the form of last season.

CM) Yaya Toure

Toure looked lethargic in midweek and in the Premier League defeat to Burnley, but Man City are in no position to drop a player of his calibre, and the fans realise this.

CM) Fernandinho

One of the only players, along with Hart, who came out of the Barcelona game with credit as he tried his best to contain the Catalans’ fluent midfield.

LM) David Silva

After a spell operating in the hole behind the main striker, Silva is expected to shift back out wide and work his magic from the left.

CF) Sergio Aguero

Despite missing the penalty which effectively ended the tie, Aguero has single handedly carried the side and will no doubt be central to any potential fight back in the title from Man City.

CF) Wilfried Bony

Fans want their big January signing to start only his second game of the season after the Ivorian was kept out of the side by the form of Edin Dzeko.
