1) Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

Oh dear…so much hype surrounding Stevie G’s final game for Liverpool against Manchester United and then this happens. The Reds skipper was only brought on at half time as Brendan Rodgers’ side looked to chase the game from a far-from-tragic 1-0 deficit, only for their inspirational leader to blow his fuse completely and get sent off after just over 40 seconds.

2) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

A target of abuse at the Bernabeu and in the Spanish press of late, Gareth Bale will be the main focus again for Real Madrid as he looked totally anonymous in his side’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Real weren’t even that bad, and Barca got a little lucky, but the difference? One former Premier League star in Luis Suarez had that moment of magic required from top, top players, while Bale simply went missing.

3) Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

Despite some good saves in the second half, Thibaut Courtois had a bit of a shocker for Chelsea here, gifting Hull City their second goal at the KC Stadium. The Belgian shot-stopper may be one of the best in the world, but this is an error that perhaps shows he still has much to learn.

4) Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)

Another goalkeeper who had a bit of a horror-show this weekend, Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer was badly to blame for his side’s first goal conceded in a shock 2-0 home defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach – their first loss at the Allianz Arena for nearly a year.

5) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Another Liverpool player badly found wanting against Manchester United, Raheem Sterling was played as a makeshift wing-back against the Red Devils and just wasn’t at all up to scratch. Is this why Brendan Rodgers is reluctant to pay him £150,000 per week? Or should he be using the potentially world class talent in a more attacking role?

6) Tim Sherwood (Aston Villa)

The more he talks himself up, the more we all love to see him fail. Tim Sherwood has had a decent start at Aston Villa, but his side were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City this weekend in a tame display that will have alarm bells ringing as the end of the season draws nearer.
