20) Bas Dost (Wolfsburg)

The Dutchman’s 13 strikes have been pivotal in helping Wolfsburg surprise many people, to become all-conquering Bayern Munich’s biggest challengers in the Bundesliga this season.

19) Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Sanchez may currently be going through something of a dry spell in front of goal lately, but he has already bagged 13 goals in his first Premier League season.

18) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

The Frenchman has done a fantastic job in his first season with the La Liga champions. His current total of 14 goals puts him top of the club’s scoring charts.

17) Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

In a largely disappointing campaign for Roberto Mancini’s side, Mauro Icardi has been a shining light. With 15 Serie A goals for a team languishing in mid-table, it is no surprise to see him linked with a move away from San Siro in the summer.

16) Jeremy Menez (AC Milan)

Menez has bounced back from a largely fruitless spell at Paris Saint-Germain, which ended when he joined Milan in the summer, to score 15 times this season, and help his side sit just above their city rivals in the table.

15) Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers)

It’s probably fair to say that without Austin’s 15 strikes this campaign, Queens Park Rangers would have already been relegated from the Premier League. His influence has given Chris Ramsey’s side a fighting chance at survival.

14) Alberto Bueno (Rayo Vallecano)

The 27-year-old’s 15 goals have largely helped his side remain in mid-table, and stay in contention for their highest finish since their return to the top flight in 2011.

13) Carlos Tevez (Juventus)

The former Manchester City striker would have been higher on this list had he not missed a penalty during Juventus’s victory over Genoa last time out. But, he is still Serie A’s leading scorer with 16 strikes to his name.

12) Carlos Bacca (Sevilla)

Only three of the biggest names in La Liga sit above Bacca’s tally of 16 goals. His performances have helped Sevilla to the last eight of the Europa League, and put them in contention for Champions League qualification.

11) Andre-Pierre Gignac (Marseille)

The Frenchman had a fairly modest goalscoring record in the past, but he’s already netted 16 times this season, and brought Marseille well into the Ligue 1 title picture.

10) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris Saint-Germain)

Ibrahimovic has one more goal than his Marseille rival with 17, but he has been overshadowed this season by another Ligue 1 striker.

9) Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Aguero has almost single-handedly led Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s challenge for the Premier League, though his 17 goals now seem to be in vain.

8) Neymar (Barcelona)

The Brazilian wonderkid has scored 17 times this season. However, he definitely should have made in eighteen during El Clasico, but missed a simple chance with the goal practically at his mercy.

7) Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich)

Robben has helped Pep Guardiola’s side to the brink of another Bundesliga title with 17 goals. But the Dutchman may not add to that total for a while, after sustaining a nasty stomach injury against Borussia Monchengladbach.

6) Harry Kane (Tottenham)

The Spurs striker’s 19 strikes have made him the surprise of the season in the Premier League. His great form has been rewarded with his first international call-up.

5) Diego Costa (Chelsea)

The former Atletico Madrid striker made a lightning start to his Chelsea career, and after a few games without a goal, the Spanish international has two in his last two, taking his tally to 19.

4) Alexander Meier (Eintracht Frankfurt)

The 32-year-old midfielder is the surprise name at the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts with 19 goals to his name. His form has left Frankfurt sitting just outside the European qualification places.

3) Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

The 23-year-old has been the most exciting of a crop of talented youngsters currently making the grade with the Ligue 1 leaders. His 23 goals has led to constant speculation about an imminent move away in the summer.

2) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

He may be appearing to struggle at the moment, but the Ballon d’Or holder has already hit the net 31 times this season, the last of which came during the defeat in El Clasico.

1) Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

The Argentinian maestro has 32 goals in La Liga this season, leaving many believing that he is not only the greatest current player, but perhaps the best ever.
