Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) – 13 goals

The in-form centre forward scored a double at the weekend against Newcastle United and has found the back of the net in each if his last five league games to take his tally to 13.

What he has left: Liverpool (H), Burnley (A), Chelsea (H), Hull (A), Swansea (H), Man United (A), Sunderland (H), West Brom (H)

Chances: Given his recent form, he is in with a shout, but being six goals short of top spot at the moment makes it just a little more difficult for the Frenchman.

Charlie Austin (QPR) – 15 goals

The one bright spot in an otherwise poor campaign for the Hoops is the form of Charlie Austin. He has shown he can play at this level, scoring a respectable 15 times for a struggling side including goals home and away against Arsenal.

The goals have dried up for Austin since the turn of the year, with just three in his last 10.

What he has left: West Brom (A), Aston Villa (A), Chelsea (H), West Ham (H), Liverpool (A), Man City (A), Newcastle (H), Leicester (A)

Chances: Highly unlikely given the tough run of games Rangers have, but should be proud to still be in the conversation at this stage of the season.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) – 17 goals

The Argentine has led the charge for City this season but his 17 strikes don’t appear to be enough in their bid to retain the Premier League title.

He looked nailed on to be top scorer after starting the campaign with three in his first four games, injury has dented his hopes of claiming his first golden boot title since moving to Manchester.

What he has left: Crystal Palace (A), Man United (A), West Ham (H), Aston Villa (H), Tottenham (A), QPR (H), Swansea (A), Southampton (H)

Chances: If City are to catch Chelsea, then Aguero will play a key part and if anyone can go on a hot streak in front of goal then look no further.

Harry Kane & Diego Costa (Tottenham & Chelsea) 19 goals

Intriguing battle between the league’s joint top scorers, Kane went top of the charts with a hat-trick against Leicester City on Saturday then Costa responded 24 hours later against Hull City to move level with the Englishman.

Costa has put a recent drought behind him to score two in two, while it’s five in three for Kane.

What Kane has left: Burnley (A), Aston Villa (H), Newcastle (H), Southampton (A), Man City (H), Stoke (A), Hull (H), Everton (A)

What Costa has left: Stoke (H), QPR (A), Man United (H), Arsenal (A), Leicester (A), Crystal Palace (H), Liverpool (H), West Brom (A), Sunderland (H)

Chances: Looking at both players respective run-ins, it would appear that the Tottenham striker has the better chance should he continue at the rate he is going at, meanwhile Costa hopes could be thwarted by a hamstring injury picked up at the weekend.
