GK: Simon Mignolet

No change in goal, of course, with the in-form Simon Mignolet continuing as number one for Brendan Rodgers’ top four-chasing side.

DC: Emre Can

A youngster performing well as a centre-back, Emre Can continues as part of the back three.

DC: Kolo Toure

Replacing the suspended Skrtel, Kolo Toure looks the best bet to step in in the middle, ahead of flop summer signing Dejan Lovren.

DC: Mamadou Sakho

Finally, Mamadou Sakho makes up the final member of the back three for Liverpool.

MC: Jordan Henderson

Liverpool’s stand-in captain, Jordan Henderson will lead the side in Gerrard’s absence as he has done so well for most of this season.

MC: Lucas Leiva

Alongside Henderson in midfield is the ever-reliable Lucas Leiva, who may be a better option than Joe Allen right now.

MR: Jordan Ibe

With Adam Lallana also a doubt through injury, it seems likely that youngster Jordan Ibe will get another chance to impress on the right flank.

ML: Alberto Moreno

Continuing as usual as an attack-minded wing-back on the left, Alberto Moreno keeps his place in this slightly altered Liverpool lineup.

FR: Lazar Markovic

In a more advanced role than usual, Lazar Markovic makes up part of the front three and could impress in a role with more freedom.

FL: Philippe Coutinho

In his floating role from the left, in-form Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho remains a key part of the Liverpool team.

FC: Raheem Sterling

Perhaps forced upfront as Mario Balotelli remains out of favour, Raheem Sterling has shone in this false 9 role and could be the man to replace Sturridge.
