Twitter reacts to policeman Lee Casciaro scoring Gibraltar’s first ever competitve goal

Despite Scotland beating Gibraltar 6-1 at Hampden Park on Sunday evening, they day witlgo down in history as being the first side in a competitive international to concede against the minnows.

Gibraltar went into the game in Glasgow on the back of four straight defeats in their 2016 European Championship qualification section and were yet to score a goal…until they faced the Scots.

Despite falling behind to a Shaun Maloney penalty after 18 minutes, they equalised just a minute later through Lee Casciaro, who is a policeman by day, and he sent the shock waves throughout the stadium.

Although his side were unable to hold to what would have been a valuable point, they certainly made a big impression by getting on the scoresheet for the first time in an official UEFA recognized tournament.

And it was that goal which is more likely to make the headlines…and has certainly made waves on Twitter:
