Five signings Arsenal should make instead of Barcelona star Pedro, including 26-goal striker & Bundesliga ace

Arsenal transfer rumours

1) Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg)

Reported by the Metro as a target for Arsenal back in January, former Chelsea winger Kevin De Bruyne has been in outstanding form for Wolfsburg this season with an incredible record of 14 goals and 21 assists in all competitions. The Belgian international looks like becoming world class and would be a far better long-term option than Pedro as he is still only 23 and has his best yeards ahead of him.

2) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Another younger player who arguably looks a bigger talent than Pedro at the moment, Atletico Madrid wide-man Antoine Griezmann has managed an impressive 17 goals from midfield this season and would represent more of an upgrade on what the Gunners currently have than Pedro would. The Daily Mail reports that the Frenchman rejected Arsenal in the summer, but perhaps Arsene Wenger would try for him again?

3) Jackson Martinez (Porto)

Instead of buying a winger at all, perhaps Arsenal should revive their interest in signing Porto striker Jackson Martinez. The Colombian international has recently been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and is arguably more what is needed at the club at the moment, with plenty in attacking midfield but not so much upfront with Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud inconsistent performers.

4) Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

Midfield is another position Arsenal could do with strengthening more, with the likes of Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere not looking like good enough options to protect the defence. Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin has been linked with the club in recent times and seems an ideal option.

5) Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)

Although the Daily Express has previously reported that Manchester United may be favourites to sign Raphael Varane, Arsenal should also step up their interest in the Real Madrid defender, with a long-term replacement for Per Mertesacker clearly needed for next season, far more than more players in attack.
