The 31 year old Brazilian looks set to leave the Nou Camp with his current deal with his La Liga employers expiring in the summer.
The Metro claims that whilst PSG and Liverpool are also keen on the former Sevilla man, it’s Louis van Gaal who looks likely to win the race to sign the hugely talented wide-man.
With neither Rafael nor Luis Antonio Valencia impressing on the right hand side of Man United’s defence a move for Alves seems a sensible option to consider.
The Old Trafford side will apparently have to meet Alves’s £150k a week wage demands though given he wouldn’t cost the Premier League side a single penny one imagines such a salary wouldn’t prove a problem for Man United.
Alves is into his seventh season with Catalan giants Barcelona, helping the club to four domestic titles and two Champions League triumphs among a host of honours, racking up 329 appearances in the process.
