Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Eden, has agreed to join Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach on a permanent deal this summer, having spent the season on loan with the Champions League hopefuls.

The Blues do have a buy-back option on Hazard junior, though he now believes he will be playing in Germany for the foreseeable future, despite his older brother’s wishes.

According to the paper, Eden wants to be reunited with Thorgan at the end of the season with a return to Stamford Bridge and will try his best to encourage him to do so.

That said, the younger brother claims both he and Eden appreciate he is at the right club to further his development as a footballer.

He said, “I am at the right club. I can develop here, have a coach [Lucien Favre] who trusts me, and I am close to my native Belgium.

“It remains my goal to play with my brother Eden at my dream club Chelsea one day, but for now I want to stay at Gladbach for a long time.

“[Eden] also knows that Gladbach are a great club for me.”

Hazard Jr. also admits that the prospect of playing in the Champions League for the first time with Gladbach is more than enough incentive to keep him abroad for at least one more season.

“I have dreamt of playing Champions league since I was a small kid; now we want to fulfil our dreams and those of our fans.”

The 22-year-old has made 28 appearances for Die Fohlen this season, though many of those from the bench. Despite this, he has still managed to net three times and provide eight assists, helping his side to third in the Bundesliga, eight points clear of dropping out of the top four.
