The two clubs have produced some epic battles down the years – who can forget Michael Thomas’ dramatic injury time winner at Anfield in 1989 to clinch the title for Arsenal?

And there is Robbie Fowler’s stunning four minute hat-trick against Arsenal in August 1994, making it the the quickest three goal haul in Premier League history.

With the game on Saturday shaping up to be another memorable one, we look at four classics between the two from the Premier League era.

4) Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool – April 2011

A fixture that is likely to be remembered just for two of the latest Barclays Premier League goals in history.

Arsenal took the lead through a Robin van Persie penalty in the 98th minute, but remarkably there was still time for Liverpool to equalise as Dirk Kuyt converted from the spot in the 102nd minute.

3) Arsenal 4-2 Liverpool – April 2004

The Gunners had crashed out of both the Champions League and the FA Cup in the space of four days and welcomed Liverpool to Highbury on Good Friday in 2004.

The visitors twice took the lead in the first-half and looked set to inflict a first league defeat on Arsenal that season, but a hat-trick from Thierry Henry, including a wonderful solo goal, gave the home side the win.

2) Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal – February 2014

A game where both sets of supporters were stunned as to what happened at Anfield last season. Arsenal went into the game top of the league and in good form, but Liverpool came racing out of the blocks, two up inside 10 minutes and four to the good after just 20.

Raheem Sterling went on to add a fifth in the second half, and though Mikel Arteta grabbed one back from the spot, nothing could take away from the fact that the Gunners suffered a beating at the hands of a rampant Liverpool team.

1) Liverpool 4-4 Arsenal – April 2009

One of the best games in Premier League history as Andrei Arshavin sparkled on a magical night at Anfield.

The Russian scored four times against Liverpool, but even that wasn’t enough for victory as Yossi Benayoun equalised in injury time.
