The Red Devils have had a superb youth system over the years, after all it did produce the famed class of 92 including Paul Scholes, Gary and Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs. Just don’t mention Robbie Savage…

If United had to field a team of Under 25, they would not be too far stretched, with plenty of full internationals still eligible to take their place in the line up.

We have gone with the 4-2-3-1 formation that has worked wonders for Louis van Gaal in the last two games, take a look at who made the final cut:

GK) David de Gea (24)

Given the form he has been in this season, he is an automatic first choice selection.

RB) Rafael (24)

Has improved since joining the club and remains the best full-back on their books.

CB) Phil Jones (23)

Finally getting a run in his favoured position at club level, could fulfill his potential if he can steer clear of injury.

CB) Paddy McNair (19)

Has been thrust into the first team picture this season due to a defensive injury crisis. Signed a new deal in February which suggests he will be at Old Trafford for the long-term.

LB) Luke Shaw (19)

Struggled with injuries since his big money move, next season should see the best of him.

MC) – Ander Herrera (25)

Starting to find his feet in Manchester, could become a key player in the side for many years to come.

MC) Nick Powell (21)

A forgotten man – signed from Crewe Alexandra but is yet to get going for United, still has time on his side.

AMC) Andreas Pereira (19)

AMR) Jesse Lingard (22)

On-loan at Derby County in order to build up his fitness, seems to he highly regarded by Louis van Gaal who handed him a debut on the opening day of the season.

AML) Adnan Januzaj (20)

Is yet to establish himself at Old Trafford but the potential is there, just needs regular games.

ST) James Wilson (19)

Behind the likes of Robin van Persie and Falcao at the minute, could change if one or both depart in the summer.
