When Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam drew back for a long-range effort comfortably inside his own half at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea today, it looked a tad ambitious to say the least. However, he managed to lob world class ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois, which has led to claims that it was the best strike this season.
It was a shame that his goal wasn’t significant in the end, with Jose Mourinho’s men regaining their lead to re-open the seven point lead at the top of the table.
