The Red Devils weren’t at their best, but manager Louis van Gaal won’t mind with main rivals Liverpool losing against Arsenal.

GK) David De Gea, 3

A rare off day for the Spaniard, and he won’t want to view Christian Benteke goal again.

RB) Antonio Valencia, 6

Fairly average from the 29-year-old, who didn’t have much to do going forward or back.

LB) Daley Blind, 6

Looks very suited to playing at left-back, and Luke Shaw may find it hard to get back in to the side when hereturns from injury.

CB) Phil Jones, 7

Kept Benteke quiet for most of the game, no mean feat.

CB) Marcos Rojo, 6

Solid on his return from injury, and will want to build on this.

CDM) Michael Carrick, 7

Mr. Dependable continued in his usual manner in front of the defence.

CM) Ander Herrera, 9

Two well taken goals, and now one of the most important players in the side.

CM) Marouane Fellaini, 6

Not at his best, and will be hoping that he isn’t slipping back in to the form that saw fans turn on him in his first season at Old Trafford.

RAM) Juan Mata, 7

Lots of pretty passing, but was unable to provide any final balls for his teammates.

LAM) Ashley Young, 8

Well and truly part of the starting XI these days, something that no one would have said just nine months ago.

ST) Wayne Rooney, 8

Another goal, and deserved it for his running and effort throughout the match.

SUB) Angel Di Maria, 6

Got himself an assist, but may need to do better to justify his mammoth transfer fee.

SUB) Radamel Falcao, 5

Didn’t have enough time to make an impact on the game.
