Manchester United go into their Premier League clash with Aston Villa hoping to increase their five point lead over their top-four rivals. Louis van Gaal’s side’s momentum was interrupted by the international break, but nevertheless they will be looking to extend their four-match winning run at Old Trafford.

GK- David De Gea
The Spaniard has been one of the players of the season, and a key reason why United currently sit in the top four.
RB- Antonio Valencia
Valencia should continue at full-back due to a lack of convincing options available to Louis van Gaal.
CB- Phil Jones
The centre-back is perhaps lucky to be available after a crunching challenge with Adam Lallana during the victory over Liverpool, which many felt he could have been dismissed for.
CB- Marcos Rojo
With Chris Smalling doubtful after collecting an injury on international duty, the Argentinian could well be recalled, having been used as a substitute at Anfield.
LB- Daley Blind
The Dutchman has looked comfortable since his recent transition to a more defensive role.
DM- Michael Carrick
Carrick is going through a purple patch at the age of 33. He has become an integral part of the Manchester United and England side in the space of a few weeks.
RM- Juan Mata
Mata had probably his best game since his move to United last time out against Liverpool, and should have done enough to convince his manager to give him a more prominent role.
CM- Marouane Fellaini
The Belgian had a good break away from Old Trafford, scoring three goals for his country, including the winner against Israel.
CM- Ander Herrera
Despite struggling to establish himself since his move last summer, the Spaniard has started all four of his side’s most recent wins.
LM- Ashley Young
The former Villa man is starting to rebuild his career at Old Trafford, now he’s being utilised in a more attacking role.
ST- Wayne Rooney
The captain has twenty goals in all competitions for club and country this season, and has proved that he is United’s biggest threat.
