Manager Manuel Pellegrini has already admitted that his side need more ‘big name players’ in an interview with Sky Sports, and while that takes care of the incomings, we look at five players who should be sold in the summer in order to make way for some world class stars to arrive at the Etihad stadium.

5) Gael Clichy

The former Arsenal man has not progressed since joining City in 2011, is always likely to make a mistake in a big game.

City need to invest in a quality left-back in the summer and Clichy should pay the price.

4) Stevan Jovetic

Left-out of the 25-man squad for the Champions League knockout stages, doesn’t appear to have future at the club, with Sergio Aguero, Wilifried Bony and Edin Dzeko all above him in the pecking order.

3) Jesus Navas

If City are indeed targeting Raheem Sterling, then that should spell the end of the former Sevilla winger’s time in the Premier League.

2) Edin Dzeko

With the signing of Bony in January, it seems as if the writing is on the wall for the Bosnian striker.

Should be playing a lot more than he does and City could raise funds by selling him.

1) Yaya Toure

The Ivorian has been nothing less than superb since arriving from Barcelona, but after winning all their is to win domestically with the Blues, it is time to move on.

Plus his age need to be taken into consideration, selling him would open the door for a younger midfielder.
