GK) Simon Mignolet – 7/10

Two excellent saves at the start of the second-half and another good stop in the final seconds.

RB) Glen Johnson – 8/10

An excellent performance from the experienced full-back, much to the surprise of supporters.

CB) Dejan Lovren – 7/10

Arguably his best performance of the season, good aerial presence from the Croatian.

CB) Mamadou Sakho – 5/10 (Toure – 28′)

Limped off early on with a hamstring injury. Worrying signs.

LB) Alberto Moreno – 7/10

Quietly efficient. Just what he would have hoped for after a bad couple of weeks.

DM) Lucas Leiva – 6/10

Did his usual job in front of the back four.

CM) Joe Allen – 6/10

A couple of dodgy moments early on but had a decent game all in all.

CM) Jordan Henderson – 7/10

Made the goal and worked hard across the pitch as always.

AM) Raheem Sterling – 6/10

A quiet evening. He’ll be pleased for last week’s difficult media reports to be behind him.

AM) Philippe Coutinho – 7/10

Got the goal with his moment of brilliance but was otherwise fairly quiet.

ST) Daniel Sturridge – 6/10 (Lambert – 85′)

Very quiet up front and replaced late on. His touch let him down on a few occasions.

Subs:

1) Kolo Toure – 7/10 – Great performance after the weekend’s disappointment.

2) Rickie Lambert – 5/10 – Had little time to make an impact.
