Manchester United transfer news

13) Eliaquim Mangala (Manchester City)

A huge waste of money based on what we’ve seen so far, Eliaquim Mangala has looked a real flop at Manchester City since his big-money move from Porto, looking error-prone and unconfident in defence.

12) Radamel Falcao (Manchester United)

Only a loan signing from AS Monaco, but still a big waste of money based on his poor goalscoring displays, Radamel Falcao’s form for Manchester United has been a big shock after his great career prior to joining the Red Devils.

11) Bacary Sagna (Manchester City)

Signed on a free, Bacary Sagna has still looked another signing that was not worthwhile for City, spending most of the season on the bench and failing to impress when used.

10) Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

An expensive gamble that hasn’t paid off, Luke Shaw has been poor for Manchester United since his big move from Southampton in the summer.

9) Fernando (Manchester City)

Another failed signing by City from Porto, Brazilian midfielder Fernando has looked out of his depth at this level and surely hasn’t got what it takes to succeed at the Etihad Stadium.

8) Angel Di Maria (Manchester United)

Despite a good start, Angel Di Maria has not looked value for money at all for Manchester United since his club-record transfer from Real Madrid.

7) Victor Valdes (Manchester United)

Snapped up on a free, Victor Valdes does not look a particularly worthwhile signing by United but should make a decent backup goalkeeper to David de Gea.

6) Willy Caballero (Manchester City)

Another backup goalkeeper signing, Willy Caballero has not had many games but looks a decent option in case Joe Hart gets injured.

5) Wilfried Bony (Manchester City)

Signed from Swansea City in January, Wilfried Bony has not really got going yet but looks a promising striker to compliment the game of Sergio Aguero once he settles in.

4) Marcos Rojo (Manchester United)

A good defensive signing by United, Marcos Rojo has proven a key player for the club since joining from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.

3) Frank Lampard (Manchester City)

A smart loan signing by City, Frank Lampard has done well whenever called upon and still carries a superb goal threat despite his age.

2) Daley Blind (Manchester United)

A classy and versatile performer, Daley Blind has been a top signing by United in midfield and defence this season, looking a great long-term addition for the club.

1) Ander Herrera (Manchester United)

A player on top form right now, Ander Herrera is perhaps far and away the best signing made by either Manchester club this season, looking potentially world class in the middle of the park.
