Four things Manchester City must do to cause Manchester United upset

The 25-year-old England international has cemented himself firmly in Louis van Gaal’s first-team plans for the Red Devils, seemingly in a bid to keep his place in the side as the Dutchman delves into the transfer market for a world class defender.

Smalling was enjoying a barbecue with girlfriend Sam Cooke as he posted his first picture, with the caption, “BBQ Time #biggreenegg.”

The defender could come back into the side for the Manchester derby, which neither side can afford to lose. United could extend their lead over City to four points, while the Citizens will want to return to good form following two morale damaging defeats against strugglers Burnley and Crystal Palace.

Belgian youngster and team-mate of Smalling, Adnan Januzaj, has also joined the social networking website and said, “Hi Twitter! This is my official account looking forward to sharing with you all #MUFC #FirstTweet.”

The winger has found first team gametime limited under manager Louis van Gaal, despite bursting onto the scene last season under David Moyes, and could choose to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
