One of the best strikers in the country this season, Charlie Austin has been a revelation for Queens Park Rangers with a great return of 17 league goals to surely put him in contention for an England place before long.

3) Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

Linked strongly with a move to Arsenal, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is another superb midfielder currently playing outside of the traditional big clubs, though that may not last long after his form this season.

4) Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

A terrific young striker who has had a bit of a dip in form this season, Everton’s Romelu Lukaku is no doubt a potentially world class player once he finds more consistency in his game.

One of the best goalkeepers in the country this season, Southampton’s Fraser Forster is another of the Saints’ many impressive players to show their quality this year.

6) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

A player coming back to form, Christian Benteke has been banging in the goals for Aston Villa again this season after a spell out injured, and he remains a real handful upfront.

7) Ashley Williams (Swansea City)

An underrated centre-back, Ashley Williams has been a commanding presence and great leader for Swansea City again this season as they secure a safe mid-table position.

8) Ross Barkley (Everton)

A bright young talent for Everton and England, Ross Barkley is another youngster suffering a slight dip in form this season, but his natural ability remains up there with the best.

9) Jose Fonte (Southampton)

A hugely important player for Southampton, Jose Fonte has been a superb defensive player and unsung hero for the Saints this term.

Making the step up from Championship level seamlessly, Aaron Cresswell has had an excellent first season in the Premier League with West Ham United.

11) Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

A right-back attracting plenty of interest after a great season for Southampton and becoming a regular for England, Nathaniel Clyne is undoubtedly another of the best players outside the big clubs in the Premier League.
