Le TFC’s last home game was against local rivals Girondins de Bordeaux back at the end of March. That contest—a 2-1 victory for Les Roses—proved to be a false dawn for the strugglers as they lost their next fixture 3-2 to FC Metz, one of only two sides beneath them in the league.

Dominque Arribage appeared to have made an instant impact having replaced Alain Casanova ahead of the Derby of the Garonne, but he now needs to prove that he has a tangible impact on this Toulouse squad over the three and a half weeks that he has been in charge.

That won’t be easy against Montpellier.

While MHSC lost to Evian Thonon Gaillard back in March, they are flying high in Ligue 1—they sit in seventh—and have impressed in their last two games, a 3-1 victory over SC Bastia and a 0-0 draw with AS Monaco.

In particular, Paraguayan forward Lucas Barrios has the capacity to terrorise Toulouse’s hapless backline—the most porous in the division.
