Pep Guardiola will continue his pursuit of a third Champions League title this evening as his Bayern Munich side travel to Portugal. His squad look well positioned to match the league, cup and European treble of 2013 but face a stern test in the shape of FC Porto.

He’ll have to manage without a plethora of his stars, including Franck Ribery, who has an ankle problem, as well as midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has been ruled out with flu.

Left-back David Alaba, centre-back Medhi Benatia, midfielder Javi Martinez and winger Arjen Robben are also sidelined (via BBC Sport).

Nonetheless, Munich go into the game as heavy favourites. They are pursuing a fourth successive Champions League semi-final, while Porto will surely have to snap their opponents’ 11-match unbeaten run in Portugal to have any chance of progressing.

Porto are aiming for a first Champions League semi-final since 2004, when Jose Mourinho famously guided them to the title.

They are unbeaten in the tournament so far this year but will be without top scorer Jackson Martinez for tonight’s game, with the Colombian having picked up a groin strain.
