While Chivas is now doing better on the pitch, their owner is endured a torrid time off it, with the situation now starting to affect his other businesses and the football team.

Vergara (who owns 51 percent of the club) broke up with his wife Angelica Fuentes (the club’s CEO who owns 49 percent) and initiated a process to recover the entire control of the club by citing potential fraud committed by his ex-wife.

But Fuentes is fighting back to keep her position as CEO and called for a extraordinary meeting on April 29th, where she hopes to convince group shareholders to annul her dismissal by Vergara.

Vergara has stated that although there will be many changes in his companies they should not affect the club, and has reiterated that he is not considering selling Chivas.
