Rivaldo, who is the president of Mogi Mirim, announced on Tuesday that Edinho, the eldest son of the legendary Pele, is the new manager of the club.

According to Globoesporte, Edinho will be presented to the fans later today and will manage the club in the Campeonato Brasileño. His first game will be on May 9th against Criciuma.

Mogi Mirim haven’t had a manager since last Wednesday when they fired Claudinho Batista after the 3-1 loss to Botafogo Paulista.

After overcoming legal problems about his alleged ties to drug trafficking and running over a pensioner during an illegal car race, Edinho had since worked as goalkeeping coach for Santos.

The city is hoping to see Pele side by side with Rivaldo on the Mogi Mirim bench once the season starts.
