The Red Devils look in desperate need of more quality in attack after a disappointing season from a number of their forward players, with Robin van Persie and loan ace Radamel Falcao really struggling to hit top form.

The pair have just 14 goals between them this season, and manager Louis van Gaal now appears to be considering a move to pounce for Higuain as he is linked with an exit from Serie A.

According to talkSPORT, Napoli are keen to hold on to the free-scoring Argentine, who has a great record in Italy and at previous club Real Madrid, though that has not held back interest from United and Arsenal as the summer transfer window approaches.

The 27-year-old has 23 goals and 7 assists in 39 games in all competitions this season.
