The Brazilian has found himself behind natural winger Antonio Valencia in the pecking order this season, and has made only ten appearances in the Premier League. Four of those have been from the bench. Injuries have not helped his cause, and it seems manager Louis van Gaal is not convinced of the 24-year-old’s qualities.

Southampton and Barcelona full-backs Nathaniel Clyne and Dani Alves are reported transfer targets in the summer according to the Mirror. This has left Rafael’s future far from certain. Even so, the Brazil international is still keen to stay at Old Trafford beyond the next window.
