Memphis Depay warned off Manchester United move by Dutch legend

The 44-year-old also thinks that the 21-year-old could become as good as Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. The youngster has fired PSV Eindhoven to the Eredivisie title with 20 goals this season, while the two time Ballon d’Or winner has managed to net 52 times in the campaign. So his Dutch counterpart still has some way to go to match him.

The winger’s brilliant form has drawn the interest of the Premier League duo, and they are expected to have to pay around £25 million according to the Express. The Red Devils could have the advantage over their Merseyside rivals through manager Louis van Gaal. The 63-year-old worked with the PSV ace while in charge of the Netherlands national team.

De Boer said: “”I don’t want to say which club is more suitable for him, but if he goes to United he knows there is a Dutch coach there who knows him from the World Cup. That is an advantage.

“He is one of the biggest talents in Europe. He has skill compared to a young Cristiano Ronaldo. He is very lively, technically unbelievable, very skilful, very fast, he has a great goalscoring record, he can shoot from every distance – he has everything.”
