Stamford Bridge side plot yet another Vicente Calderon raid.
Chelsea are ready to use Felipe Luis as a makeweight in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid star Koke according to the Metro.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in Spanish midfielder Koke and is ready to offer Brazilian international Luis back to his former Vicente Calderon side as part of a player plus cash deal.
The Atletico Madrid star is said to have a £44m release clause and the Blues are set to offer £30m plus Luis in a deal Mourinho hopes will tempt Diego Simeone into a sale.
Koke is Atletico Madrid’s creator in chief, the creative midfielder producing 22 assists in La Liga action alone over the past two campaigns, and whilst it’s unclear quite where he’d fit into Chelsea’s starting eleven it’s evident that 23 year old has the quality to make a real impact in the Premier League.
Simeone saw Chelsea sign Luis and Diego Costa last summer and also ushered back Thibaut Courtois after a three season long loan spell in the Spanish capital and one imagines the Argentine does not want to lose more talent to the Premier League table toppers.
