Arsenal transfer gossip

GK: David de Gea (Manchester United)

Still in goal after a superb season for Manchester United, there’s no doubt David de Gea’s place in the team is fully deserved.

DR: Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

Selected instead of Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic, Nathaniel Clyne has been immense for Southampton and has perhaps earned the place more.

DL: Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)

An impressive left-back, Ryan Bertrand made it into the actual team and seems a deserving winner for the place.

DC: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

An underrated defender, Laurent Koscielny has been solid once again for Arsenal and is a real unsung hero at this level, even if not quite Team of the Year quality when Chelsea players are included.

DC: Jose Fonte (Southampton)

A player many feel should have got in, Jose Fonte has been one of Southampton’s best players in this superb season, arguably eclipsing Gary Cahill.

MC: Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

A player wanted by all the big clubs, Morgan Schneiderlin is yet another Saints star worthy of a place in the team, even if he’s not quite Nemanja Matic.

MC: Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)

A better shout than Philippe Coutinho, Santi Cazorla has been one of the best midfielders in Europe this season and certainly worthy of a place.

MR: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Still in on the right-hand side, Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has possibly been the best player in the Premier League this season, very close with Eden Hazard.

ML: David Silva (Manchester City)

Instead of Hazard on the left, Manchester City playmaker David Silva has shown some fine form this season, largely unnoticed due to Manchester City’s poor results overall.

FC: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Still upfront after an excellent season, Harry Kane has deserved his place after so many goals for Tottenham Hotspur.

FC: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Top scorer in the Premier League, it’s a travesty that City striker Sergio Aguero could not find a way into the team.
