The reports claim that the highly rated teenager is poised for a move to Anfield in the summer – with Liverpool looking likely to beat Spurs and Fenerbahce to his signature.

Such is Simon’s talent that a big money move away from KAA Gent is expected, and with Daniel Sturridge’s ongoing injury concerns, Rodgers is keen on bringing in extra attacking reinforcements for the following season.

The youngster has just burst onto the international stage with Nigeria, and is eager to showcase his quality at the highest domestic level.
