=5) Tottenham Hotspur – 13

In joint fifth place, it’s Tottenham Hotspur, who have had some fine stars of the Premier League in their time, including this year’s striker Harry Kane, also named PFA Young Player of the Year, plus Gareth Bale, now at Real Madrid. Other former stars include Dimitar Berbatov, Sol Campbell, David Ginola, and Scott Parker.

=5) Blackburn Rovers – 13

Also in joint fifth, Blackburn Rovers are surprisingly high due to their dominance in the early Premier League years. Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton, pictured above, are just some of the names to make it in, along with Brad Friedel and Graeme Le Saux.

4) Liverpool – 23

Only in fourth, Liverpool owe most of their numbers to Steven Gerrard’s eight appearances in the team of the season (more than any other player), though big names such as Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres and Sami Hyypia have also got in, as well as Philippe Coutinho this season.

3) Chelsea – 29

In third place it’s Chelsea, who have produced some real stars in the last decade or so, with big names like John Terry and Frank Lampard regularly appearing, as well as stars of yesterday like Arjen Robben, Joe Cole and Ruud Gullit – amazingly Gianfranco Zola has never got in!

2) Arsenal – 42

In second place it’s Arsenal, who have great individual players if not the trophies to show for it, with Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira making it in six times each, while other greats such as Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams and Robert Pires have made it in, along with Alexis Sanchez this season.

1) Manchester United – 75

Miles in front it’s Manchester United, who have thoroughly dominated the Premier League era with some of the finest players this country has ever seen. Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville have made it into the team six times each, while other legends such as Roy Keane, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney also feature prominently.
