Fierce local rivals Everton back four have scored more goals than the current crop of strikers at Anfield. The defenders have nine goals between them with three each for Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman, two for Leighton Baines, and John Stones scoring his first against Manchester United on Sunday.

Meanwhile the Reds strikers have netted just eight times between themselves. Daniel Sturridge has the most with four, despite being injured for the majority of the season. Rickie Lambert has two, while Italian duo Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini have a measly one each.

This embarrassing stat shows how the Merseyside club failed to bring in the right players to replace Suarez after he left for Barcelona. The Uruguayan scored 31 times last season as they finished second in the top flight. This time round it looks likely Liverpool will struggle to even qualify for the next edition of the Europa League.
