Arsenal transfer targets

Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Long term Arsene Wenger target and a player who has been on a good run of form over the past couple of seasons and arguably a better fit for the north London side.

The former Lyon man has bagged 133 goals in six seasons in the Spanish capital and has the physicality which would lend well to life in the Premier League.

Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli)

Former Real Madrid man who is continually linked with an apparently ‘imminent’ exit from his current Naples side and a player with a proven pedigree in both Spain and Italy.

Argentine may be all the more likely to consider such a move if Rafa Benitez’s side do not secure a Champions League berth for 2015/16.

Pedro (Barcelona)

The versatile Nou Camp star isn’t traditionally thought of as a central striking weapon though it’s a role he can, and has, played in with great success.

Last term the 27 year old plundered 15 La Liga goals last term and offers far more than just an end product and certainly fits Arsene Wenger’s style of play.

Perhaps above all else the Barcelona man looks likely to leave Barcelona this summer.

Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

There will be some who, perhaps rightly, deem Olivier Giroud to be a better player than the Belgian but worth noting that despite playing for a side in the wrong half of the table Benteke’s personal best of 19 goals in a single Premier League season is superior to any tally the French forward has thus far accrued.

Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

23 year old has been in superb form this term and could perhaps prove a more prolific option than Giroud but clearly it’s never certain as to how a Ligue 1 striker adapts to life in the Premier League and as such there is little guarantee the Lyon man would offer more than Giroud.
