Club Universitario de Sucre vs Tigres UANL – Copa Libertadores preview: Mexicans look to take advantage of favourable draw

After scoring a brace in their 3-1 win away at Ronaldinho’s Queretaro side last weekend – his first league goals of the season – Alvarez has continued his fine form by scoring the vital goal to put Tigres 2-1 up against their Bolivian opponents.

It was a well worked goal from Tigres, as Uruguay international Egidio Arevalo picked out 35 year old Alvarez, who beat a defender and slotted under the onrushing Juan Robles in the Universitario goal.

If Tigres can win this two-legged last 16 game they would face either Colombian giants Atletico Nacional or the Ecuadorian side Emelec in the quarter final.

No other last 16 games take place until next week. Tigres played a week early due to their imminent involvement in the Mexican domestic post season.
