Chelsea can secure a first Premier League title in five years with a win against Crystal Palace today.

Jose Mourinho’s men just need three more points to secure their fourth top flight trophy in ten years, and third under the Portuguese.

Boring? Maybe at times but you can’t argue with their results after beating some fearsome competition this season to finish possibly with one of the highest winning margins in Premier League history if they can keep their current 13 point gap.

Diego Costa will sit out this game, he has yet to recover from a hamstring injury despite sitting out the past four weeks. However, Loic Remy is back in contention for a start as is Thibaut Courtois who missed the midweek win over Leicester.

Alan Pardew hopes to welcome back Joe Ward from a shin complaint, though Frazier Campbell and Marouane Chamakh both remain sidelined.

The writing seems on the wall though in terms of the Premier League, the Eagles have managed just one win in 11 meetings against the Blues and only twice at Stamford Bridge – in 1976 & 82.

Expect the blue confetti, flags and streamers today and Mourinho to be grinning, and purring, as much as a Cheshire cat come the end of the 90 minutes.
