Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumours

GK – Hugo Lloris – 6/10

So nearly gave Aguero the easiest of opening goals following an unfamiliar slip outside the box from the Frenchman, but was not at fault for the Argentine’s stunning winning strike.

RB – Eric Dier – 6/10

The youngster continues to impress at Spurs, and was unlucky not to have got on the scoresheet. Always aching to push forward, giving Aleksandar Kolarov a busy afternoon.

RCB – Federico Fazio – 4/10

Not good enough for Spurs at present, and a nightmare partner for Jan Vertonghen in central defence. The Argentine possessed little composure on the ball, and his positioning was abysmal.

LCB – Jan Vertonghen – 6/10

By far Tottenham’s most dependable defender, but struggled to contend with City striker Aguero – though he wasn’t the only one. Made an excellent block from a low shot by Pablo Zabaleta.

LB – Danny Rose – 6/10

Endured a difficult afternoon with James Milner and Pablo Zabaleta a menace all afternoon on the wing. Though the 24-year-old did deliver some threatening crosses at the other end.

RCM – Nabil Bentaleb – 6/10

A battler that every midfielder needs – the Algerian didn’t give up all game – but was let down in attack by a lack of movement up top.

LCM – Ryan Mason – 6/10

Didn’t get to play the full game after being replaced by Paulinho on 69 minutes, but came close to equalising but for an excellent save from Joe Hart.

RAM – Erik Lamela – 6/10

The Argentine looks great on the eye, but is yet to really express his influence in the final third. Was offered inviting space left by the forward bursts from City left-back Kolarov, but failed to create. Didn’t help out much in defence, either, leaving Dier exposed.

CAM – Christian Eriksen – 3/10

A day to forget for the playmaker. The Dane could be thinking ahead to his summer holidays, instead of Spurs’ top four fight, as he was virtually non-existent at White Hart Lane. Replaced after just 59 minutes by Roberto Soldado.

LAM – Nacer Chadli – 4/10

The Belgium offered one moment of excellence in the opening few minutes of the game, as he burst forward and almost set up team-mate Lamela, but offered little else for the remainder of the clash.

FW – Harry Kane – 6/10

Held the ball up well, and was creative in attack. However, the England international seems to have slightly lost his touch in front of goal in the past few weeks – squandering two excellent chances which earlier in the season he would have buried.
