Here is how we have rated Arsene Wenger’s side against the Tigers.

GK) David Ospina – 6

The Colombian keeper did not have much to do in goal at the KC Stadium and could do noting about Stephen Quinn’s header early in the second half which gave the Tigers hope.

RB) Hector Bellerin – 6

Not the young Spaniard’s best game since breaking into the first-team as he was given a difficult time by Robbie Brady in the first half, but he did improve to a degree after the break.

CB) Per Mertesacker (C) – 7

The German was solid at the heart of the defence as he coped well with the threat of Dame N’Doye.

CB) Laurent Koscielny – 7

Would have been disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet on his 2ooth appearance for the Gunners but he was fouled in the build up to Stephen Quinn’s goal.

LB) Nacho Monreal – 6

Found it difficult against Ahmed El Mohamaday in the first half, but similar to his compatriot on the opposite flank he got to grips with the wing-back after the interval.

MC) Francis Coquelin – 6

Typical performance from the Frenchman as he broke up play in front of the back-four but he could have done better with a rare foray up the field in the first half as he failed to pick out a team-mate when well placed in the City penalty box.

MC) Santi Cazorla – 9 MOTM

The little Spaniard produced a stunning pass for Ramsey’s goal and ran the show from start to finish for the Gunners. He has been a revelation since moving into a deeper role alongside Coquelin.

AMC) Mesut Ozil – 7

The German was at the heart of all things good for Arsenal throughout and even showed hunger to win the ball off Tom Huddlestone in the build up to the opener, but was overshadowed by Cazorla.

AMR) Aaron Ramsey – 8

Shrugged off an early injury scare to double the lead in the first half, albeit via a hefty deflection then created the third with a stunning pass for Alexis. The Welshman could have added to the scoreline in the second half and was very good throughout.

AML) Alexis Sanchez – 8

Stung the hands of Steve Harper with a powerful shot in the first half, then opened the scoring with a free-kick that was aided by a touch from Michael Dawson. His second was the goal of the night and he is back to his best after a quiet spell a few weeks ago.

ST) Oliver Giroud – 6

Found it very difficult up against Dawson in the first half and couldn’t quite get into the game like how he has done since his return from injury.
