Chelsea player ratings for the 2014/15 season as Blues win 4th Premier League title

A look at how Chelsea’s players have rated over the course of the season as they celebrate another Premier League title win…

Goalkeepers:

Thibaut Courtois – Superbly consistent as Chelsea’s new number one, doing well to deal with the pressure of replacing the long-serving club legend Petr Cech: 9/10.

Petr Cech – A reliable backup, Cech has had to fill in for Courtois on occasion and has shown his quality despite a frustrating campaign overall: 6/10.

Defenders:

John Terry – The pick of the bunch, John Terry has been exceptional for Chelsea this season, rolling back the years to re-establish himself as one of the Blues’ star players again: 9/10.

Gary Cahill – Another key member of this rock-solid Chelsea back four, doing well to recover after a couple of games out of the side in the middle of the season: 8/10.

Kurt Zouma – A promising youngster who has done well when called upon, Kurt Zouma looks like having a bright future at the club when he becomes more of a regular: 6.5/10.

Branislav Ivanovic – Another excellent performer week in, week out with big goals as well as great defending, Branislav Ivanovic has been another real star of this season: 9/10.

Cesar Azpilicueta – Doing well to keep his place, Cesar Azpilicueta has made the left-back slot his own in another outstanding season: 8/10.

Filipe Luis – A disappointing signing who hasn’t made the impact expected, Filipe Luis has had a low-key first season at Stamford Bridge: 5/10.

Midfielders:

Cesc Fabregas – A great signing who started superbly, Cesc Fabregas perhaps loses points for a dip in his performances in the second half of the season, though he still netted a crucial goal in the 1-0 win at Queens Park Rangers: 8/10.

Nemanja Matic – Perhaps the best defensive midfielder in Europe right now, Nemanja Matic has proven an immense signing by the Blues and has been hugely important this season: 9/10.

Ramires – Not a regular as usual for Chelsea, but Ramires has had some good games and played his squad member role well: 6.5/10.

John Obi Mikel – Playing even less this season, John Obi Mikel has not made a particular impact for the Blues: 5/10.

Oscar – A superb creative player, Oscar has been hugely important for Chelsea in the number ten role this term, though he arguably could score more.: 7.5/10.

Willian – A hard worker who does his job well, it has been another solid if unspectacular season from Willian in Chelsea’s midfield: 7.5/10.

Juan Cuadrado – Signed in January, we are yet to see much from Juan Cuadrado as he has struggled to settle in England: 5/10.

Attackers:

Diego Costa – A brilliant signing, Diego Costa has given Chelsea just what they needed upfront after years of relying on Fernando Torres. Although slightly injury-prone, the Spaniard has been decisive in the title race: 9/10.

Eden Hazard – A more attacking player than the other midfielders, Eden Hazard has been a hugely important forward for the Blues, scoring 14 league goals, including the all-important winner against Crystal Palace: 9/10.

Loic Remy – A solid backup striker, Loic Remy has scored some important goals to aid the club’s title challenge in Costa’s absence: 7.5/10.

Didier Drogba – Not at his best any longer, Didier Drogba has still played his part this season with some important goals: 6.5/10.
