Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Top of the Man United wish-list and a player Man United are ready to fork out £100m on according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Welsh international has done well since moving to the Spanish capital, his 22 goal haul last term including efforts in both the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals, however Bale has unfairly become something of a scapegoat of late and abuse from a section of the Bernabeu could aid Man United’s push to welcome the former Tottenham man back to the Premier League.

Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)

German international World Cup winner may well be the ideal man to solidify the Man United defence and with Jurgen Klopp leaving the Westfalenstadion at the end of the current campaign the timing for a bid from the Premier League side could well be opportune.

Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

The Saints right-back could fill one of Man United’s ‘problem areas’ with neither Luis Antonio Valencia nor Rafael impressing Louis van Gaal in the right-back berth.

The former Crystal Palace man’s displays have led to a call-up to the England set-up and having signed Luke Shaw from the south-coast outfit a year ago Man United may be confident of repeating the trick.

Memphis Depay (PSV Eindhoven)

Louis van Gaal knows the Dutch winger well from his time in charge of the national team, handing the youngster a prominent role in his 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Depay’s goals have helped PSV to an Eredivisie title and an inevitable exit from the Dutch top tier is on the cards.
