Real Madrid and Juventus are first up as the Champions league reaches the semi-final stages. The defending Champions up against this season’s surprise package.

While many would have predicted Carlo Ancelotti’s side would be in the mix come May for the title of Europe’s best team, few could have foreseen Juventus’ run to the last four.

Despite being European aristocrats, the Italian giants, have struggled in Europe in recent seasons, with this season’s run to the semi-finals, their first appearance on this stage since 2002.

Home form has been key to their success, with the club winning four of their five home games, including significant wins over Borussia Dortmund and Monaco in the knock-out stages.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side will be boosted ahead of the game having claimed a fourth successive Serie A title with a 1-0 win over Sampdoria. Arturo Vidal scored the title clenching goal and the Chilean midfielder will once again have to lead from the front against Real Madrid with key man, Paul Pogba missing.

Pogba misses out on one of the biggest games of Juventus’ season with the hamstring injury that has ruled him out since March.

Juventus will also be without Kwadwo Asamoah, Martin Caceres and Luca Marrone however it is the loss of Pogba that will perhaps be felt the most by Allegri’s men.

Madrid meanwhile will give fellow French international, Karim Benzema every opportunity to overcome the knee injury that has seen him miss the last five games while Gareth Bale is available after making his comeback at Sevilla following a calf complaint.

Bale marked his return to the Real line-up with an assist as his side beat Sevilla 3-2 on Saturday with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick. The result left Real Madrid 2 points behind Barcelona in the race for the title with just three games to play.
