The Blues could be set to lose Cech to rivals Liverpool at the end of this season, with the 32-year-old shot-stopper unhappy at having become a backup to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge this season.

Although Chelsea seem content to let Cech leave the club in his search for first-team football, the Metro now reports that Jose Mourinho would still like to have a top class backup keeper should Courtois ever get injured or miss games.

Begovic has certainly stood out as a fine goalkeeper in recent seasons, attracting interest from bigger clubs after some fine displays at the Britannia Stadium.

It remains to be seen if the Bosnian international himself would be happy to go from being first choice at Stoke to being a bench warmer for Chelsea, but it seems the Blues could try their luck with a bid.
